Reagan wins Bundeschampionate qualifier with score of 8.7!

The 5-year olds AC-DC and Reagan, and the 6-year old Baccardi became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the Holtkämper Dressage Days in Bielefeld, Germany, on 12 – 14 May 2017. A huge group of horses were entered to contest these L and M-level dressage horse tickets in an attempt to earn a ticket to Warendorf.

The 5-year old division was split into two groups. Sina Aringer and Wolfgang Strizke’s Westfalian stallion AC-DC (by Apache x Florestan) became the winners in group 1 with 8.4. The chestnut stallion got 9 for trot, 8 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Jan Dirk Giesselmann and the Hanoverian gelding Bugatti (by Bretton Woods x Rubin Royal) were the runners-up wuth 7.6. The dark bay gelding got 8 for walk and trot, 7.5 for canter, 7 for submission and 7.5 for general impression.

In the second group of 5-year olds Helen Langehanenberg moved Melissa Palmer’s Oldenburg mare Reagan (by Belissimo M x San Amour) into the winner’s circle with an 8.7 total score. The bay mare got 9 for trot, 8 for walk, 8.5 for canter, and 9 for submission and general impression. Carina Bachmann and Josef Fieseler’s Hanoverian mare Quadrophonia (by Quasar de Charrt x Hochadel) landed second place with 8.3. The dark bay mare got 8 for trot and canter, 9 for walk, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.

In the 6-year old division Claudia Rüscher and Wilhelm Rüscher-Konermann’s Westfalian stallion Baccardi (by Belissimo M x De Niro) convinced judges Harry Lorenz, Fritz Ostmeyer and Cornelia Albrecht the most and received an 8.8 total. The bay stallion got 9 for walk and trot, 8.5 for canter and submission and 9 for general impression. Charlott Maria Schurmann rode her father Heinz-Werner’s Hanoverian stallion Burlington II (by Breitling x Rohdiamant) to a second place with 8.4. The liver chestnut stallion got 8 for trot, 9 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
